I painted the meat of this piece at an art retreat. We were exploring and focusing in on patterns in nature. What do they mean & why are they found, consistently, throughout many forms of nature? As I painted lobes, webs, and branches, I noticed that they are communication systems. In this case, they have created a web and a cocoon for these embryos to germinate under the dirt. They are in the process of coming into being.
