Art is a play of technique and iconography, the visual language that tells the old stories of our shared humanity. I love the way bones can tell many stories at once: a haunting of life once lived, or death too close; or they are evocative of ancestral power, or even spiritual healing and mastery. Being an artist allows me to weave these healing realities together into a shamanic story with many layers– even a simple black-and-white drawing like this one of bleached skulls.
